  • Don’t eat onion and garlic in the navratri week. 
  • Some vegetables like mushroom, leeks , shallots are not good to consume in Navratri.
  • It is good to eat satvik aahar . It helps you detox your body also.
  •  Do not shave or cut nails
  •  In the week of navratri , never shave or cut your nails as it attracts bad luck.
  •   Don’t consume alcohol and non-vegetarian food the whole week.
  •   Avoid gossiping in navratri as talking of ills is bad in navratri.

  • Some navratri rules for people who are fasting.
  • Sattvik and vrat friendly foods are good during navratri.
  • Some of the vrat freindly grains like ragi, samak chawal , singhara atta , sabudana , farali flour with fruits like banana, apple, oranges etc.  One can use sendha namak instead of regular salt.
  • Performing morning and evening aarti for worshiping Goddess Durga Ji.  
  • One can also light a Akhanda Deepak.
  • Maa Shailputri, Maa Brahmacharini, Maa Chandraghanta, Maa Kushmanda, Maa Skandamata, Maa Katyayani, Maa Kalaratri, Maa Mahagauri and Maa Siddhidatri are the nine forms of Adi Shakti are worshiped in navratri.

 

Kalash Sthapana Rules.

It is customary to do Kalash Sthapana or Ghatasthapana on the first day of Navratri. This is a crucial celebration rite that must be performed when Pratipada is in effect. Kalash Sthapana is on 15 th October, 2023  at timing of 10:24 a.m.

Offer red flowers and red colur dress to Maa Durga.

Each day of Navratri is dedicated to a distinct Maa Durga incarnation. During Puja, it is advised to wear red and to give red flowers to all Maa Durga avatars

Readymade foods to avoid during Navratri.

Banyard millet, sabudana, sago, Rajgira, singhare ka aata, or water chestnut flour are some of the ingredients in samvat ke chawal.potatoes, sweet potatoes, bottle gourds, cucumber, carrots, arbi, pumpkin, spinach, and bottle gourds.Some foods people shouldn’t eat when fasting include onion, garlic, okra, brinjal, mushrooms, wheat, rice, semolina, maida, corn flour, legumes, and pulses.
