Another tradition that is followed on this day is the immersion of Goddess Durga’s idol and family gatherings. All the Newly married couples and kids receive gifts from their respected elders. In other regions of India, people celebrate by exchanging sweets with their neighbors and friends. Each ceremony is a mark of heroism, sacrifice, and devotion to promoting unity.
