There is a religious belief that worshiping the Sun and Agni Dev on the day of Lohri brings happiness, prosperity, peace, and prosperity to the house.

Lohri is celebrated by lighting a huge bonfire in the yard after the rabi crops are chopped. Small idols of the Lohri goddess are made with cattle dung and placed beneath the fire.
